What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?

I provide a safe and confidential environment where you can explore issues with some freedom. Being heard with a compassionate and professional understanding is one of the most healing elements in a talking therapy. I do not give advice, nor do I judge what you say.

The difficulties we face hold messages that need to be listened to, acknowledged and understood before we can move on. It is not about pushing away the parts of ourselves that we don't like or feel are too painful - more about understanding their needs and working through some sort of resolution.

Transpersonal psychotherapy takes account of the whole human being - from our heights to our depths. In order to fully heal we need to address not just the traumas of our personal history, but also the potential that lies, often dormant, within us.

I also like to work with dreams, images and the creative imagination. It is through these that the therapist and client can explore both the psychological and soul issues that are calling to be addressed. Soul in this context is not a thing, but qualities of depth, richness and heart through which new meaning and possibilities may be found.
